GROUPER

Fishing for Grouper

Spinning, Fly fishing, Fresh water fishing, Game fishing, Salt water fishing, Spearfishing

When you are back to your desk, freezing away in another cold winter, remember there is always a sunny opportunity to go grouper fishing somewhere else in the world.

Grouper species are various, colourful and live in a big range of water depths.

They are the reef-world's largest inhabitant; the big guy in class. Goliath grouper, as to be expected by its enormous name, is one great big trophy, weighing up to 330 kilograms.

Goliath grouper for example like other grouper, lives at depths of 5 to 50 meters and can be found on both the African, North American and South American Atlantic waters. Trolling with jigs, lures, or live bait of all sorts will get you to a big-mouthed grouper.

Their initial fight is tremendous and wild, heading towards any sort of rock or reef to break you off if they are lucky. Many will tire, making you crank against some serious weight.

It is serious fun for adrenaline seeking fishermen!
