Hunting, shooting, fishing for Hog deer

Stalking, Highseat

Across the field from where your sit behind a blind, waving above the grass line a small, three tined-brow antlers of a hog deer, a particularly archaic deer species.

Graceful movement in and out of the grass, looking for young shoots as he walks out of the grassy cover, facing broadside from you make it really seem like a dream.

Hog deer are found throughout many islands of southeast Asia, feeding on forest fruits, seeds and young plants in small groups, often seen near grazing wallaby and kangaroo in Australia.

Although small, they are a delicious “field to fork” type of species and an exciting game to go for.
