Hunting, shooting and fishing trips Turkmenistan

Hunting and fishing trips in Turkmenistan: known for mountain stalking prize winning transcaspian urial sheep and world-class sturgeon fishing

Turkmenistan to some of the most largest and more beautiful of rams, the transcaspian urial sheep. Found in the border of Turkmenistan with Iran and Afghanistan, this cautious ram lives in the gorges and ridges of the Kopet Dagh. Reachable by horse, the terrain is treacherous and will keep you on your toes.

Yet with a trophy reaching 40 inches, the transcaspian urial sheep is an opportunity not to be missed but to be carefully approached to achieve the highest level of success. Although a true beauty of its kind, the rams are alert and suspicious, one false move and they dash off at speeds of almost 60 km/h. A clean shot is a celebrated deed of excellence. Down the lowlands, there is great hunting of persian goitered gazelle and bezoar ibex which can be seen in large populations. Turkmenistan is also lucky enough to border the Caspian Sea, the largest enclosed body of water on Earth.

Fish species are bountiful and beyond expression, to start, the Caspian Sea currently provides 90% of the world’s caviar from the beluga sturgeon. You can fish for trophy sizes sturgeon, sprat and herring which are all found in absurd volume. Kilka fish are also incredibly prominent counting for 80% of the total catches in the Caspian Sea. Turkmenistan provides the best quality of fishing in the most rewarding of locations, it is not random that so much of the world sturgeon derives from here.
