Aniak River Lodge

The owner says

Come and experience angling as you only dreamed it could be. You are in the middle of nowhere, the Alaskan Bush, and nothing but your adventure to focus on.
As you head out each day to fish our waters, we would like you to be aware of several things:

ONE: You will catch fish.
TWO: You will have an experience of a lifetime.
THREE: We don’t expect you back until evening dinner.

About

Your host at Aniak River Lodge: Samuel W Sudore, owner. Aniak River Lodge offers a unique lodging experience with a lower lodge, an upper-river wilderness tent camp, and a brand new mid-river lodge. Each location adds to our diverse Alaska fishing program. Our lodge and tent camp accommodations offer the comforts of home amidst the wilderness of Alaska – providing all the amenities necessary to make your fishing trip an experience of a lifetime. Aniak River Lodge offers some of the best trout mousing in Alaska and the entire world. The Aniak River and its tributaries have an incredibly healthy and unpressured Rainbow Trout population. During every week of the fishing season, you can catch our giant Leopard Rainbows on mice patterns. The months of June, July, and early August prove to be particularly productive for this unique top water action. “Mousing” is our specialty, and it separates Aniak River Lodge from other fishing operations in Alaska.

Fly-fishing experience at Aniak River Lodge: Depending on the week of your stay, there will be between 7 and 10 species of fish available for your angling pleasure. Aniak’s mother river, the Kuskokwim, boasts the largest Chum Salmon and Silver Salmon run and the 2nd largest King Salmon run of any river in Alaska. We offer a variety of fishing methods, and our experienced guides are equipped to accommodate novice & expert anglers alike. The Aniak River provides all 5 species of Pacific Salmon, Leopard Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling, Sheefish, and Northern Pike. Click here for quick link country guide.

A typical fly-fishing day at Aniak River Lodge: Your day starts when you are ready to get on the water. We access our fishing using jet boats. Fish from the boat, or get out and wade if you like. There are many braids to explore and smaller tributaries to fish. Your day will end with a marvelous dinner prepared by our chef. For the few nights spent at our tent camp, if you didn’t get your fill of fishing head back out after dinner. There is superb fishing to be had right from camp; no need to take off the waders to eat! Soak up that Alaska daylight, which is close to 24 hours a day during our summer season. We encourage catch-and-release fishing at all times. In the event that you wish to pack your legal limit of salmon to take home, we can make that happen.
