Cuba offers excellent fishing spots for dfly fishing. At the north coast especially in the lagoons of the islands Cayo Coco and Cayo Romano/ Cayo Santa Cruz. Bonefish, permit, tarpon and barracudas are the most important species for fly fisher and very frequent. You catch bonefish with an average of 4-9 pounds or even bigger. Tarpons with a live weight of up to 15 - 40 pounds can be found as well. When fly fishing in Cuba you mostly prey flat fish like bonefish, permit, snooks and small sharks. But you can also catch groupers, jacks, snapper, and snooks.You can mostly fish them in the canals or close to the beach, no matter if you use a fly or a spin rod.
