Fishing Bear Lodge

The owner says

We are a small family operated fly-in fly fishing lodge catering to a maximum of eight guests per week. Our unique wilderness location in the 1.6 million acre Wood River-Tikchik State Park gives us unparalleled access and opportunity to share Alaska's most diverse river and stream fly fishing with our guests.
We are located in the heart of Bristol Bay's trophy rainbow trout area with some of the highest concentrations of rainbow trout, Arctic grayling and Arctic char in Alaska. Additionally, our region offers some Alaska's best dry fly fishing. When you are standing in one of our rivers and it "turns on" with big rainbows and grayling sipping dry flies, there is no finer fly fishing experience on earth.
We hope to see you for a week of outstanding fly fishing on the beautiful rivers and streams surrounding Fishing Bear Lodge.

Fly-fishing experience at Fishing Bear Lodge: Expect a guide ration of 1:2. The agenda is based on the fishermen's desires. The local waterways encompass a series of rivers with interconnecting lakes. Fishermen are ferried throughout the water system via speed boats that allow for access to some of the smaller tributaries where fishing is amazing. The local area itself is amazing as the craggy mountains, and the ancient forests come together to form a perfect fishing habitat. A hot lunch is served streamside. Rainbow Trout are the primary target of fishermen who visit this lodge. Other fishing options include Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike, and Sockeye Salmon.  As far as eating goes, Sockeye Salmon are perhaps the best salmon for eating. Rainbow Trout and Arctic Char are also excellent dining options. The Grayling make wonderful meals too. The Northern Pike is also good to eat, but the fish is bony.
