Flywater Adventures

The owner says

At Flywater Adventures, we have a simple goal: to provide our guests with the finest fly fishing experience and instruction in Southeast Alaska. We are proud to host programs at one of Southeast Alaska's finest lodges, the Glacier Bay Country Inn outside of Gustavus, the Gateway to Glacier Bay. The Country Inn, as it is often called, is comfortably elegant, wonderfully managed, and often visited by bald eagles, moose, wolves and bear. We offer programs and expeditions throughout Southeast Alaska and into Glacier Bay National Park, catering exclusively to fly fishers of all skill levels and interests. We are also one of the only fly fishing companies in the state to expand our programs to those requiring handicapped access.

About

Your host at Flywater Adventures: Rich Culver, Owner and Guide. Flywater Adventures is based in Juneau, Alaska's capital and the heart of the Alaskan Panhandle. With direct flight jet service from Seattle, this lovely city is conveniently accessed--and an ideal starting point for back country trips into Glacier Bay National Park, the wilderness regions of Chichagof and Yakobi Islands; and to Admiralty Island National Monument, home to the highest concentration of nesting bald eagles in North America, and the largest population of brown bear in the world.

Fly-fishing experience at Flywater Adventures: Flywater Adventures offers fly fishing programs and expeditions throughout Southeast Alaska. To assist you in selecting the fly fishing program best for you, we recommend you use this simple guide: Choose one of our Guided Fly-Outs if you wish to maximize your fishing time while in the area, if you have very little to limited fly fishing experience and want instruction, or you simply prefer to fish with a private guide. Choose our Angler's Retreat if you want to fish a variety of waters in some of our best locations or choose one of our Expeditions if you'd like to experience the ultimate in Southeast Alaska fly fishing. The coastal waters of Southeast Alaska are a fly rodder's paradise. Ocean and islands create a tapestry of brilliant water and trackless land where glaciers descend mountain spires to the sea. Through the countless estuaries and bays course the anadromous races of fish: salmon, steelhead, coastal cutthroat trout and dolly varden char. On their way to complete ancient cycles they will move from open ocean into sweet water rivers of startling purity, passing beneath forests of majestic hemlock and spruce, many to reach lakes without names. It's all Flywater Adventures country. Sometimes our fishing parties will meet no other people for days, if at all. If that appeals to you, listen carefully: the Tlingits say that when you do, "you'll hear this land calling your name."Click here for quick link country guide.
