Scott Thorpe Fly Fishing LLC was founded in 2004, and grew out of the habit of introducing acquaintances and friends to the joys of fly fishing. In 2007, I left a busy career in architecture to guide full time, trying to find a more enjoyable way to make a living. The decision to try fishing for a living was featured in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. St. Paul Pioneer Press, May 2009 After graduating from a guide school in Montana, and brief stint guiding there, I decided to focus on guiding in Alaska in the summer, the tributaries of Lake Superior and streams in the Driftless during the rest of the year. The life style has worked out well and described in an article in Outdoor News. Outdoor News, May 2016 I am currently licensed to guide in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Alaska; CPR and Wilderness First Aid accredited and a Licensed Coast Guard Captain (USCG UPV 6-Pack, Great Lakes with Towing Endorsement).
