About

Your host at Alaska Summit Guide Service: Scott McRae, Owner. Our family enjoys the outdoors year-round, whether it's hunting, fishing, shooting, hiking, skiing, boating, or camping. It is what we love and what we do best. We work hard to make sure that your hunt will be successful and strive to make it an incredible experience for you. The owner of Alaska Summit Guide Service and primary guide, Scott McRae has over 25+ years of professional guiding experience, 20 of which have been directly in Alaska. We are lucky to get to earn a living at what we love to do.  We enjoy sharing this great Alaskan wilderness with each client and there is so much history to share from Alaskan Native history to the pioneers, trappers, and explorers,  Scott loves to share history and can bring books on the area you are hunting in if you would like to read them during down time.  Knowing the history of an area (i.e. who has been there in the past) really brings it to life. We are commited to ensuring that the animals and landscape we enjoy are available for our three young sons and all future generations to see as we see them today.  We practice low-impact camping and leave-no-trace ethics.  Scott is actively involved in game management meetings and activities and is commited to ethical hunting.

Hunting experience at Alaska Summit Guide Service: Fall and spring hunts are available and can be customized to create your ideal hunting experience in the last frontier. Whether you are after a single species or prefer a combo hunt, we can tailor the hunt to fit your needs. Whatever your hunting style, it will be an adventure you will never forget.  There is no substitute for quality experience and 110% commitment to your hunting adventure. All hunts are based on one guide per client unless you choose to hunt with a friend. 2:1 hunts can be arranged. Bow and rifle hunts are available. Scott and most of the guides we use are bowhunters. We access hunting areas either by plane or raft. Combination hunts are available with almost any species. We will add black bear/small game hunts based on a trophy fee in addition to your primary hunt and wolf can be taken with no additional fee. Whatever hunt you choose, you will get an adventure you will never forget and see incredible wilderness and wildlife along the way. Alaska is a vast landscape full of opportunity. It is a rugged wilderness not to be taken lightly and you are encouraged to come in good physical condition with quality equipment.
