ust 250km south of Bulawayo you will find the Bubiana Wildlife Area. The area covers 70 000 acres of prime unspoilt indigenous habitat. Arguably Africa’s Premier Leopard hunting destination, in the Lowveld of Zimbabwe. The area is covered with large granite hills providing ideal habitat for Leopard and other species such as Klipspringer and Hyrax. Two large rivers flow through the property providing lush, thick riparian vegetation for species such as Buffalo, Bushbuck, Kudu, Waterbuck, Warthog and Bush pig. Both rivers are dammed providing beautiful lakes for recreation and angling. Hippo and Crocodile are also common in these reservoirs . Between the rivers and hills there are more open plains and Mopani woodland where large herds of Zebra and Wildebeest roam. Elephant, Eland, Impala and Giraffe are also found in large numbers here.
For the hunter seeking a monster leopard and amazing plains game combined with bird hunting and fishing , this is the place.
The area offers many exciting activities to local and international travellers, these include Sport Hunting, Angling, Game Viewing, Historical Sighting, Guided Walks and Camping.
Access to the area can be done via a road transfer from Bulawayo or alternatively you can charter a private aircraft and land at our registered air field.
There are two main camps situated in the wildlife area. Boulder Creek lodge is a brick under thatch building that was renovated to a lodge in the 1990’s but it was actually one of the first permanent structures in the area and was a trading post that serviced a large wild area in the days of the settlers and traders. With enough rooms to accommodate even the largest groups, it is the ideal place to stay with the right mix of luxury and rustic charm. The other camp is a luxury tented camp in the heart of the hunting area on the banks of the Bubiana river. The three double tents accommodate six people comfortably and all have en-suite bathroom facilities. The permanent water source in front of the camp provides wonderful game viewing opportunities from your tent as well as having a front row seat to the natural bush orchestra that every evening brings.
