About

Location: Cruiser Safaris is located near the town of Lephalale (formerly Ellisras) in the Limpopo Province (formerly the Northern Province) of South Africa, about a 3½ - 4 hour drive from Johannesburg. South Africa, at the southern tip of the continent of Africa, has a total area of about 472,000 square miles.

About your host at Cruiser Safaris: Pieter Lamprecht, Owner. Your host and Outfitter at Cruiser Safaris is Pieter Lamprecht. Through this family owned and operated business Pieter brings to you a lifetime of experiences in the Limpopo Province. Although his family tree in South Africa dates back to the 18th century, their roots in this province all began in 1925 when his Grandfather first purchased land here. Pieter’s children are the fourth generation to live on this property. His native-born Father and Uncles were enthusiastic "Big Five" hunters. Following in their footsteps Pieter started hunting when he was only 5 years old!

Hunting experience at Cruiser Safaris: Cruiser Safaris hunting areas consist of two completely different landscapes. The Bushveld, characterized by open grasslands with scattered trees and bushes, and an area where the Bushveld rises to a series of high plateaus and low mountain ranges, with breath taking views and scenery. In all we are able to offer the hunter over 250,000 acres of private hunting areas for your safari. With 63% of all hunting, the Limpopo Province is considered the hunting capital of South Africa, supporting an astonishing abundant choice of species. The area is known for the massive Southern Greater Kudu it produces each season, with a top record book trophy being within every hunters reach. Southern Impala, Common Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbok, Klipspringer, Limpopo Bushbuck and Eland are found in abundance with excellent trophies recorded each season. However, all medical treatment must be paid for at the time of service, so you should purchase a Travel Insurance for your stay. These facilities are just a short distance from all Cruiser Safaris locations. Visit our General Information/Insurance link where you will find additional information on Medical kits that are available and also a link for medical evacuation insurance.

After your trip

  • Taxidermy: Taxidermy of your trophies is considered an option and is not viewed as a must or a part of the safari. However it is something to be thought about, as it is possible for the cost of taxidermy to add up to as much or more than that of your safari. Initial preservation of your trophy is done by Cruiser Safaris prior to delivery to the Taxidermist. Upon arrival to the Taxidermist you will need to determine what you want done to your trophy. Please contact the host for more information.
