Shona Hunting Adventures

The owner says

Shona Hunting Adventures was established in 2005 by Johann and Vera Veldsman.

Johann, being the son of a geologist, grew up in tented camps in the African bush, where nature was his classroom. From an early age he learned hunting from his dad, as putting meat on the table formed part of their daily lives. After school Johann had a brief career as a Sound Engineer and IT Technician.

In 1995 he met Vera, a farm girl that grew up on her family farm in the central part of Namibia.

Together they co owned a family restaurant and in 2000 the opportunity arose for them to return to the bush as managers and co-owners of Ondundu Wilderness Lodge, situated in the North-Western part of Namibia. The lodge later become Tualuka Safari Lodge and is now the home base of Shona Hunting Adventures.

In 2004 they were blessed with a little girl Zoë.

Johann is a qualified Dangerous Game PH and runs the hunting side of the operation. Vera is in charge of the administrational part of the business, as well as logistics and day to day running’s of the camps.

Through a combination of 20 years of experience in the photographic safari industry and a lifelong passion for hunting, they along with a dedicated team, provide fully customized combined hunting and photographic safaris throughout Namibia.
