Leyburn, United Kingdom
Partridge, Grouse, Pheasant, Salmon, Grayling, Trout

The Bolton Estate offers world class shooting, particularly for grouse and pheasant. Our 5,000 acres of heather moorland are managed primarily as grouse moors, which has preserved this stunning and iconic landscape as well as the huge diversity of wildlife that can only flourish on well-keepered moorland, including many non game species, such as a range of waders, ouzels, dunlin, stone chats, birds of prey and song birds. We manage our moorland in agreement with natural england and have membership of the moorland association. The undulating terrain of the yorkshire dales provides the perfect features required for presenting high pheasants. Our most renowned beat is bolton ghyll, where the original holland and holland high pheasant tuition video was filmed. These birds will test the most accomplished shots.salmon fishing: the river ure once supported catches of 3,000 salmon per annum, however pollution during the industrial revolution decimated the run of migratory fish. Now that the humber river system is becoming cleaner, the populations of salmon and other migratory fish, including sea trout are increasing very quickly in the river ure. The river ure supports a healthy stock of wild brown trout, which some fisheries supplement with stocked fish. Our trout and grayling water covers approximately 5 km of fishing from both banks, between redmire and middleham.

Bolton Estate has a huge variety of game and is renowned for its very sporting driven grouse and challenging high pheasants and partridge. The infamous Bolton Ghyll, which is a beautiful forested valley that reaches up to the moors, which produces spectacular, exciting and extremely testing birds. Bolton Estate also boasts plenty of wild game, all varieties of duck and geese, pigeons, snipe and woodcock, to name but a few, there are plenty of roe deer and now that the Salmon have returned to the river Ure, there is an extremely good chance of getting a lowland ‘Macnab’ – a salmon, a brace of grouse and a roe buck all in the same day. Bolton Estate is situated in Wensleydale and the scenery is unbelievably beautiful, you can also go and visit the 600 year old Bolton Castle. I must also mention that shooting guests are also always impeccably looked after by the family. Bolton Estate is a fantastic shoot with incredible scenery and I couldn't recommend this shoot and this estate highly enough.
