Excellent sport combined with the finest hospitality is what makes shooting at Carlton Towers a truly exceptional experience. Shoots have been hosted at Carlton Towers for generations. In the past they were the preserve of the Fitzalan Howard family and their friends, but today you can enjoy that same unsurpassed experience.
Carlton was built for entertaining and we judge the success of our shoots not only by the size of the bags but by the enjoyment of our guests. Our hospitality is in the finest country sport traditions, and known to be second-to-none. Your party can stay overnight in exquisitely refurbished rooms in a house which dates back to the 1600s. Carlton isn’t open to the public so you enjoy exclusive use of the house and gardens throughout your stay. Thanks to careful management of the estate we can provide consistently exciting sport. The English partridge at Carlton Towers are part of the conservation programme which won the estate silver in the 2007 Purdey awards.
Partridges are not the only shooting available; pheasants are also released in the parklands and duck flights are available throughout the winter. Because of this, you can expect a good variety of different shooting days. In between the shooting we keep energy and spirits high with our exceptional hospitality. A typical day might begin with tea, coffee and bacon rolls, followed by lunch taken in our woodland shooting lodge.
Then finish a wonderful day with a sumptuous dinner in the Duchess’s Dining Room – described by Fieldsports Magazine as “possibly the best shoot dining room I have ever eaten in”.
