The long term aim of Cornbury Park Estate is to carry out careful selective culling throughout the season in order to produce high quality venison and world class buck and stag trophies for visiting stalkers.
Five species of deer are to be found at Cornbury. In the Park are three herds. A small, recently introduced heard of Axis (Chital), Formosan Sika, a much larger and more imposing animal than its Japanese cousins, the other of Fallow, ranging in colour from white through menil to the almost charcoal black melanistic. In the Wychwood Forest there are numerous Fallow, Roe and Muntjac.
European Mouflon are another recent introduction.
The deer are managed in house by the Estate Deer Manager.
