The Ripley Castle Shoot, Nr Harrogate in North Yorkshire, is a traditional driven game shoot and grouse moors where true sporting values still exist. Days are organised on a “no rush” basis ensuring you have the maximum enjoyment possible. We shoot over 7,000 acres of lowland near Ripley Castle and 4,000 acres of moorland and 3,000 acres of farmland and moorland edge at Eagle Hall & Ashfold Side near Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale. Our “McRipley” days offer the combined experience of the best of Ripley Castle and Eagle Hall & Ashfold Side. We principally cater for single guns and small parties, with a few exclusive days for full teams, ideal for a roving syndicate or to entertain business clients. Our days are sold by the gun per day with no overage charged and normally we exceed the bag. We offer a large variety of days
from 200 to 450 birds. At Ripley Castle we have over 40 main drives and our emphasis is on presenting good quality birds many of which are extremely testing. The very finest hospitality throughout the day with no overages charged. A day with The Ripley Castle Shoot is “just like a proper shoot day should be

Shooting with Frank at Ripley Castle is a pleasure that even poor weather cannot spoil. The effort Frank puts into ensuring all his guests have a great day cannot be over stated; from the moment you arrive until you leave, your enjoyment is his priority. You know you are always going to have good quality shooting, great catering and an extremely friendly atmosphere. Out of the shooting season, Franks Ripley Newsletters and his very comprehensive website keep guns updates and appetites whetted. I love the wide variety of shooting on offer and last season had a real treat trying out the new drives Frank has added. (PS look out for the awesome pork pies freshly baked on the morning of the shoot!). Liz Kynoch 13/06/2017

I had the pleasure of shooting driven grouse at Ripley Castle last August. The birds flew great and had a wonderful time. Frank is unique in his program as you pay a deposit for half the expected bag then settle up after the day only paying for what was shot. We shot over the expected bag, but if we had not we would have not been charged a bag we did not shoot. The lunch in the shoot box was top shelf with smoked duck, steak, and spiced sausage. Great all around day and hope to return.

Frank Body who manages this shoot as well as others is a supremely well organised individual. The shoot programme at Ripley offer something literally for everyone from big game days to ladies only days to join the keeper days - Frank and his team do everything to make the best of every day. The information provided by Frank to his database is excellent and provides lots of useful benefits to those who shoot with him at Ripley
