I have hunted with Wintershoek on several occasions and have had nothing but great experiences. Their facilities are top of the line, the staff is wonderful, the food is excellent, but the one thing that I, my family, and everyone I know that has hunted with them will attest to is the one thing that stands Wintershoek apart from the rest, you will leave as friends. The sincerity is not part of a sales pitch and doesn't end when they get you to Africa, it is genuine and you feel it the whole trip. That alone makes hunting with them worthwhile but the trophy quality and quantity of game is excellent as well. I myself have hunted and taken great trophies but I have also taken my wife and small children who have also had great experiences and taken great trophies. We started with Winershoek as their clients but now consider them part of our extended family. Their areas are all large and you get to experience true hunting and Africa.\r\nJames Reed\r\nDirector of Sales\r\nSports Afield

I have been on 6 African safaris, the last 3 with Wintershoek Safaris, and the experience with them has been unparalleled. The guest is pampered from start to finish, from the planning stage of the trip through taxidermy. The accommodations are top shelf, as is the food. And I haven't seen the quantity, quality, and large number of huntable species available anywhere else in southern Africa. I share a friendship with staff members while in Africa and also when they are visiting in the States and can honestly say that it would be difficult to try to find a nicer bunch of people. I highly recommend taking a trip with these guys.

My husband and I got married in South Africa in September of 2014 and did a honeymoon hunt with Wintershoek Safaris. This was the best overall hunting experience I have ever had (and my husband's first hunt, so he literally started with the best!). The hunting and quality of species was excellent - we each took terrific cape buffalo, as well as a variety of really nice plains game - sable, impala, springbok, gimesbuck, black wildebeest, etc. It was great to be able to hunt so many different species of animals, all high quality trophies, in one place. In addition, the PHs, trackers and skinners were all incredibly hard working and friendly, the accommodations were top notch (our \honeymoon suite\ was perfect!), and the food was out of this world delicious. Wintershoek really goes above and beyond to take care of every detail. From the initial planning to the shipping of our trophies, we could not have asked for a better experience We can't wait to return to Wintershoek again soon!

Gene and I have hunted in Africa 4 times in the past 10 years and Wintershoek has been involved in 3 of them. From the time we arrived from Canada until we left we were treated like royalty. The owners and staff were like family and have become good friends! The game is plentiful, the landscape beautiful-our hunts were everything we had hoped for. We have a room full of trophies and memories of great hunts, good friends, amazing guides and trackers. All of the lodges are spectacular, but Wintershoek feels like home!

I’ve hunted twice with Wintershoek Safaris (RSA). Wintershoek owns and hunts more than 132,000 acres. The hunt, service, food, and accommodations were fantastic. I’ve hunted with my wife and daughter, and I’ve harvested over 18 different species. \r\n\r\nGame animals were plentiful, yet wild and sometimes difficult to approach. Often, long stalks were needed, including taking some shots over 300 yds. Trophy-sized animals are common; in fact, all but one of mine made the SCI trophy book. \r\n\r\nI saw springbuck, impala, black-wildebeest, blue-wildebeest, bontebuck, Cape buffalo, Burchell`s zebra, common blesbuck, mountain reedbuck, eland, gemsbuck, klipspringer, kudu, lechwe, nyala, ostrich, red-hartebeest, rhinos, roan, sable, scimitar-horned oryx, steenbuck, tsessebe, warthog, waterbuck, duiker, and giraffe.\r\n\r\nHunting RSA is cost effective, especially when considering accommodations and number of animals available. I think it’s the best value for hunting plains game in Africa. I harvested more animals for less money than any other African safaris I've been on, and the animals averaged as larger trophies. I’ve also hunted Zambia, Tanzania, and Mozambique.\r\n

My 2nd of 14 safaris to Africa was in 2005 with Wintershoek Safaris. While I've had many amazing safaris, that one is overall the most memorable from species taken (28 ), to accommodations, to entire staff, to food. The quality of the species was excellent, the accommodations could not have been any better. The PH's were hard working, with incredible trackers and skinners. The food was fabulous (over the top) and the entire staff was great. From the initial planning to the shipping of my trophies, I cannot express my appreciation enough to Wintershoek. I was thrilled when my daughter and her husband spent part of the honeymoon this past year hunting at Wintershoek! I look forward to hunting there again soon.\r\n
